Greenwich Township New Jersey Real Estate

Greenwich is a township in the far eastern region of the Lehigh Valley in Warren County.  It was incorporated in 1738 and is one of Warren County's oldest townships.  The area was first settled in the late 17th century by pioneers who began farming along Pohatcong Creek.  The township population is around 5,000, and the township has a total area of 11.15 square miles, all of which is land.  Greenwich is a farming community of lush rolling hills that has welcomed an influx of residential development.  With a minimum lot size of one acre and easy access to Interstate 78 and Route 57, the township is ideally situated for future growth and quality development.  Nearby Phillipsburg provides expanded shopping opportunities.  Stewartsville is a small town located within the township.  It was named after Thomas Stewart, a secretary to George Washington.  The original Stewart home still stands along with many other farm houses and mills.
